Inspiration is so fleeting during these busy times. Only when it sticks around and nags me do I take action.
So here I am, putting together a website in order to fulfill my inspired desires. It only took me over a year to finally get this together, mostly because I’ve found that acting upon mere inertia and inspiration doesn’t end well (if ever) for me. Instead of impulsively putting together a website about my writing, I decided to take notes, study the trends, integrate myself into social media groups to educate myself, and so many other things. I even completed a few projects as a freelance writer earlier this year and gained loads of experience.
And the lists. So many lists. It helps me organize my thoughts in order to accomplish what I need to do. RIP to all the sticky notes that soldiered on during this time. In the past year I have shed these little notes like feathers in this project’s pursuit.
This last year has also been a huge trial for me personally:
-Working two jobs at sixty hours a week on top of a long commute to and from said places of employment.
-Attending three weddings (two of which I was in!) while also participating in the preparations of events leading up to the weddings.
-Trying to maintain family and friend relationships (love you all!) while also attempting(?) to be involved in a romantic relationship.
-Having my trust violated and my good will abused on more than one occasion.
-Trying to be vulnerable and communicate while also maintaining boundaries, which were also repeatedly violated.
-Upholding a semblance of sanity during these trying political and socioeconomic times.
-Still attempting to be creative and maintaining a positive outlook.
-Fostering goals for myself and staying focused on them no matter how dismal things seemed.
-Repeatedly having to demand respect for myself and others.
With the coming of Autumn, it is a signal that my year is finally winding down. I have finally been able to make time for myself again. So here I go embarking on this highly experimental project in order to improve myself and my skills. Welcome to my site and I hope you visit again soon!
