Hello everyone :)
I had to take a brief hiatus last month due to some important deadlines and a wee bit of travel. If you follow the instagram page you’ll see that I did mention it on the page but never got around to explaining my absence on the website as well. So here I am!
I’ve been dedicating a lot of my time towards the cultivation of a specific career track that requires a lot of time and planning, and it has taken up a lot of my attention recently. But it will all be worth it once everything is in place. More on that later.
Anyway, this month I have many posts planned and I hope to post at a regular pace. As much as I am trying to accomplish a lot on this site, I am also trying to enjoy this season as much as I can. So in the spirit of wintry tidings, I have decided to post a poem that reminds me of quality family time rather than a short story. I hope that is okay with all of you. Next month, I plan to post a much longer piece which is actually meant to be part of a much larger (yet unwritten) project.
For now, please enjoy this short piece.

Winter Tidings/I think a lot about
I think a lot about
The times of perfect winter.
Colonial America on my mind,
Preparing for a steak dinner.
Scheherazade rumbles through the floorboards,
Deafening as I reach for the table settings.
Electric feeling hums through the space.
In anticipation of seeing our favorite hero,
With his license to kill,
Illuminated by the firelight reflection
As the glass cabinet door leans out,
Open to the warmth of the room.
Our perfect winter.
All photography in this post is my own.
